HINDSIGHT
Elegy for the Quiet Deaths
by Julia Rudlaff

is another casualty
of the morning commute
seeking sustenance in the wildflowers
that bloom in unlikely places,
it soars through metal and plastic
towards a rare and sweet oasis:
the last meadow
in these ravaged lands.
